We all make resolutions for the New Year, but most of us (92 percent according to a survey conducted by Stephen Shapiro, author of “Goal-Free Living,”) do not end up keeping our resolutions.

Fortunately, some good advice from the experts will help us stay on track. Soles4Souls® Inc., the international shoe charity that gives away shoes to people in need, issued a report today that its 2009 donations increased by more than 20% over 2008 levels. Since the Asian tsunami five years ago, the charity has collected and distributed more than 6.4 million pairs of free shoes to people in need. Currently, Soles4Souls distributes one pair of shoes every nine seconds.

I recently went through a minor surgery procedure that is supposed to improve my health.

My doctor didn’t understand why I had to reschedule it twice. My excuse? Well, I couldn’t fit in my *so very* busy life. I had to do a little bit of responsibility juggling when it finally dawned on me that my workload was not going to get any lighter anytime soon.

So, I just needed to bite the bullet and get the surgery done.
