Eating healthy doesn’t mean you should deprive yourself of fast foods. Just look at all the healthy choices before you whenever you eat on the run. Even McDonalds has salads that you can order with LOW FAT dressing. The fast food rule to fast weight loss is to order grilled foods and hold the mayonnaise. You can do this at any fast food outlet.
Now even the grocery stores have plenty of fast food options. They offer fresh salads, both fruit and vegetables. Or you can buy cooked lean sliced roast beef, or turkey and ask them to pack it in 4 oz servings. This takes away the work of having to portion your meat. Pair that with a crunchy fresh salad and low cal dressing and you have a meal. If you have a craving for a potato, puncture a couple of holes in your potato and place it in your microwave for 5 minutes. This is quick and economical. Just remember to stay away from the butter and sour cream. If you absolutely must have butter or sour cream, make sure you get low fat, read the label and stick to the portion size. Thinking about each food choice will fine-tune your awareness and give you the healthy rewards you desire.”
Here’s a delicious recipe for you to try that helped me lose over 60 pounds.
Guilt free French fries.
Heat oven to 450 Cut potatoes lengthwise Place on cookie sheet coated with non fat cooking spray Spray potatoes 2X with non fat spray Cook for 15 – 20 minutes on each side. These are really crisp and great with ketchup!
The other part to getting the weight off is through exercise. If you’ve looked in the mirror and shrieked, Oh no, I don’t want anyone to see me in shorts, but want to look hot for swimsuit season or that cruise you’ve had your eye on; try a DVD in the comfort of your own home or even a few DVD’s so you don’t get bored. One pound of fat is a whopping 3500 calories. You need to burn off 3500 through exercise and eating low calories food choices to burn 1 pound of fat. It’s definately worth it. Dr. Oz stated on Oprah, “you can live 20 more years just by eating right and exercising.” So get going and enjoy this spring and summer.

Thanks for dropping by!
With a title like this, I *had* to rush in here to read it.
And I enjoyed the article.
One extra tip… for those baked potatoes when you can’t have the butter and sour cream. Try the spray butter. They claim 0 calories although I suspect there are a few calories. In any case, it’s great on baked potatoes and veggies and I use a lot of that now.
Katharina, thanks for the tip about spray butter, I use it sometimes and it is really nice on jacket potatoes.
making your chips in the oven is a good idea… potatoes themselves are not bad for people on diets… it’s what you put on them!
I think we just need to look for creative and healthy ways to prepare foods.
Katharina, I love the butter spray idea.
Also, it is the way that you cook things. I used to coat chicken with flour and an egg batter before frying it in a vat of grease. Now, I just coat it with a few seasoned bread crumbs and use Pam. It’s still delicious.
I refuse to deprive myself of my favorites. I just try to find healthier ways to eat them.
Very good point, poster25… I’m the same way. As soon as I’d vow to cut something out of my diet, I’d be setting myself up for failure.
The title of this article was a little misleading! Baked “fries” are OK as far as that goes, but fries are fries! Lots of good info in this article otherwise…
BTW: McDonald’s fries are sprayed with beef extract! Vegetarians and non-beef-eaters should beware.
Fries are my downfall so you can bet I will be using these tip. I didn’t know that McDonald’s fries were sprayed with beef extract.
Great advice and recipe. Recently, I’ve started eating pre-packaged foods such as small bags of baked potato chips. It’s not a lot of calories and it helps me control how much I eat.
