Ingredient #1 – Vitamin B5
Vitamin B5 will be listed on the label as “D-Panthenol”. Cosmetic companies are required to use the terminology from the “International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients”, which sometimes confuses customers, because the names sound like chemical additives. In order to help consumers, some companies also include the more common names, either on the label or at their website.
Vitamin B5 helps repair tissue damage. It provides relief for razor irritation and sunburn. It has been shown to be beneficial in treating acne, both when topically applied and taken as a supplement. It also promotes the natural tanning process, which helps prevent UV damage from the sun.
Ingredient #2 – Honey Extract
Many organic natural skin care solutions contain honey extract. The best variety is called Active Manuka Honey. It has the highest antibacterial, antifungal and antioxidant activity.
Body lotions that contain it improve the skin’s ability to retain moisture. When used under the eyes, it helps to repair free radical damage caused by overexposure to UV rays from the sun or just from age. When used on the face, at night, it supports the body’s immune system function and promotes healing. It can be used on broken, damaged or irritated skin, for that purpose and helps prevent infection in shaving nicks or cuts. It is also beneficial for treating acne, psoriasis and eczema.
Ingredient #3 – Shea Butter
Shea butter organic natural skin care creams provide a variety of benefits to the skin’s health. It is expressed from a fruit pit native to Africa, where it is a staple ingredient for healing salves and ointments.
The cream helps to fade stretch marks, wrinkles and scars. It has been used to treat eczema and psoriasis. As a moisturizer, it is highly effective, since it is very similar to the skin’s own oils; sebum. Clinical studies lasting four to six weeks have shown that night creams containing Shea butter improve softness, smoothness and create a generally younger look. You should look for premium quality Shea butter, for the greatest effectiveness.
Ingredient #4 – Jojoba
Jojoba organic natural skin care body lotions help to balance sebum production, so they can be used on dry or oily spots, without causing excessive greasiness and on blemishes to promote healing. It was used by Native Americans to treat sunburn and injuries.
Like Shea butter, jojoba oil helps to fade wrinkles, stretch marks and scars. It is rich in vitamin E, which has been shown to reverse the effects that age has on our skin.
All of the Above
All of these ingredients can be used safely to prevent and counter the signs of aging. If you use organic natural skin care products that contain ingredients like these, you’ll be looking better, in no time.

What a useful article! I really do read all ingredients on everything I buy, even for my pet. My Dad is a chemist, so I know what to avoid. Now I’ll know what to look for as well.
That was a very interesting and helpful article, I am not sure I will follow all the advice, but it has certanly made me think.
That was a fascinating read and very helpful. I always wonder what some ofthe stuff in various potions really is, and this tells me a lot.
This is an interesting read. I never really knew what all some of these had in them or what all they were good for. Thanks for sharing.
You mentioned B5 in creams, and I have started taking B vitamins because of food intolerances that prevent me from getting all the nutrients I need. Since I started taking them, I have noticed that my nails and hair are growing faster and my really reactive skin seems calmer and more resistant.
Timely article for me because I’ve recently started paying more attention to what’s in the skin products I buy.
This is a very good list of important ingredients to look for!
