Everyone knows I am a big fan of Rosie O’Donnell.

I enjoy passing by her blog every single day to see what she’s up to. Ever since her untimely farewell from The View, there hasn’t been a big Rosey presence on the small screen and I’ve had to indulge myself with bits and snippets of the videos, cryptic poems and the occasional recipe posted on her blog. I just love all the work she does with the kids by getting them involved in musical theatre.

I’m so excited that she’s coming back bigger than ever and going back to her grassroots of entertainment. Discussing politics and talking about the newest shade of lipstick hasn’t really been the best use of her talent, don’t you think? And, I’m surprised The View was able to accommodate that many egos in one time slot. So, I’m sure I won’t miss this……

Rosie Live, her new show, will try to bring back the genre of variety shows – singing, dancing, acting and everything else that made Hollywood legends, taking us back to the time that stars were triple threats and not the psuedo-passable talent we hear on the radio nowadays. The show will air on November 26th featuring guests Liza Minnelli, Ne-Yo, Alanis Morissette, Gloria Estefan, Kathy Griffin, Jane Krakowski and Alec Baldwin. If the show is a hit, NBC might pick it up and expand it to a six episode series.

There has been a lot of talk about whether it’s worth the watch. I agree the guest line up doesn’t get me all excited about tuning in and Rosie all glamed up is a little bit weird to me, but I’m sure she’ll be spectacular *as always*.
