I always take the money from the entertainment fund, or some other area where he will notice its use.

Now, I only do this with jobs that I k now he can do himself. For those tasks requiring specific expertise, like electrical wiring, I hire out with no “penalty”.

I also find with children around, it becomes more and more difficult to really spend some quality time together and that strain accompanied with the present problems upsets you a lot more. So it is really important to keep the date and reconnecting with the person you loved and married.

Atula, I find that talking it out with my partner about things that upset me, I realize that he wouldn’t have done it if he knew it would bother me.

I find that there is more respect on his part for what I need if he knows.

Hmm… talk over your problems… always good advice. It also helps if there is one partner always willing to make the concession in order to get over the dispute. In my marriage it’s hubby!

I can sulk about something for ages if i don’t get my way, but hubby will always give in. Must be doing something right, we’ve been married 30 happy years now lol!

Katharina, I’ve learned so much from this article, you know!

Hubby and I have our date nights on Mondays. We don’t even go out and get dressed up for most part. We take the time to go for an hour walk around the neighborhood or even just going out to the pub for wings. We get so busy during the week that we need at least this night to get caught up with what’s happening in our lives…. a lot of my friends find it weird because we see each other 24 hours a day since we both work from home.

But, hey work with no play together is not going to make our relationship last!

husband and wife relation has its struggles everyday…it is really upto us to look at things positively and really really love the guy you married…remember the good times you shared, remeber the many times he helped you or showed he cared, that helps in cooling down a bit and rationally approaching a problem…

I know the feeling, early on in my marriage everything just sort of floated by on the cloud of I just got married this will be fine. Then reality of oh this is not all working out, talk about it hit in. Thanks for the great advice.

I Found her description of the project her husband hated interesting.

Usually, I ask about something twice. If he doesn’t accomplish the task, I let it go and either hire someone else to do it or find a work around.

I see no reason to discuss his feelings. He is either willing to comply, or not.

I have always found that it is better to talk things out in the open as soon as u find something not right..I mean when I have a problem with my husbans earlier I used to wait for him to understand that I was not happy and also find out why…but now i realise that when i tell him everything in the open as to why I am upset about something like what he did not do…then he can also easily explain the situation and the matter is resolved in minutes…men do not really understand what is going on in your mind unless u tell them so….
