justontime, there's no time like today to take care of our skin because once the *bad* effects start to happen, it is so expensive to go through the process of erasing it.

If stress has your skin red and your eyes have bags, cooling the face may help.

I have been known to place cotton pads soaked Witch Hazel, or plain old cucumber slices - real and not those pads made to look like cucumbers - on my eyes.

Something else that helps is scheduling down time with a day of home made beauty indulgences.

It's relaxing, rewarding, and worth it!

Katharina, I thought biofeedback sounded interesting too.

So, I googled it.... This probably describes it better.

I look forward to a future where the destructive effects of stress are given more attention than the old "competition is good for business" model that this country has operated with for far too long.

Our bodies and minds were not built to process the unrelenting, constant stress we are subjected to.

The body is built for processing short, controlled bursts of it. It isn't supposed to be a way of life.

Hi Nancy.

Stress can do so much harm to your body and you can never tell the long lasting effects until they actually end up popping up.

I remember being stressed before that I couldn't sleep right at night. And for the longest time, I walked around with the worst eye bags ever!

SageMother, stress really affects you in so many ways. Not only does it affect your whole mental well being, it also affects your skin.

I find that when I am stressed, my skin gets so dry and I get serious eyebags. Yes, some serious skin cream would be nice. Do you have any recommendations?

What would the biofeedback option involve? I'm not very familiar with that therapy but it sounds very interesting.
