Seven Fruits Power New Purple Beverage with the Highest Antioxidant Punch on the Planet.
The dark purple Amazonian açaí berry, pronounced “ahh-sigh-ee,” has been hailed as the new “superfood” on the Oprah Winfrey show and website, and has hip and healthful consumers clamoring for its high levels of antioxidants and cholesterol-fighting fatty acids, protein and fiber. What many consumers don’t know, however, is that antioxidants are most effective when combined with other antioxidants, in a scientific principle dubbed “the antioxidant cascade effect.”

Purple Beverage Company has harnessed the power of this cascade effect by combining seven of the planet’s most powerful antioxidants in the formula for its new beverage – Purple. All-natural, no-sugar-added Purple combines the exotic açai berry with six other antioxidant-rich fruits, including: black cherry, pomegranate, black currant, purple plum, cranberry and blueberry. The combination of these antioxidant-rich fruits is what gives Purple its high ORAC value.
Why Drink Purple?
Simply put, Purple has one of the highest ORAC values of any beverage on the planet, so it will help to protect your body against the destructive effects of free radicals. Not familiar with ORAC values? ORAC, or Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity, is the measurement used to count the amount of antioxidants a specific food can absorb. Foods and fruits that have a high ORAC value are the best for you. The more oxygen radicals a food can absorb, the higher the ORAC score. The higher the ORAC score, the better a food is at helping our bodies fight free radicals. Purple, with its seven antioxidant fruits blended for “the cascade effect,” has an ORAC value of 24,978 per liter – four times the ORAC value of orange juice.
According to Ted Farnsworth, the CEO of Purple Beverage Company, Purple’s high ORAC value appeals to today’s savvy consumers who want both healthful benefits as well as great taste, and the tangy, refreshingly tart beverage got its name not on account of its color, but because the purple pigment in the fruit provides the highest degree of antioxidant benefit to the user.
How to Drink Purple:
Purple is great on its own and is the perfect ingredient for a healthy fruit smoothie or an extravagant cocktail. Researchers from the United States Department of Agriculture and Kasetsart University in Thailand recently reported that adding alcohol to antioxidant-rich berries increases their antioxidant capacity – a fact that is making Purple one of the most popular antioxidant cocktail trends in nightclubs and lounges from Crustacean in Beverly Hills to the Essex House in Miami and the legendary Palm restaurant in New York City.
Making up a few cocktails at home for some friends? Try mixing Purple with your favorite spirit and ice in your blender for a frothy indigo concoction that may just help you fight some free radicals while you’re chilling in the sun.

Thanks for dropping by!
I am so excited to check this out. The purplerita sounds so yummy! This would also be great to add to my morning smoothies.
I never knew this.
It is handy information, though, since I just planted a Concord Grape vine in my front yard. I guess those deep purple grapes will be put to good use!
Has anyone tried this drink yet? It sounds like it has some great possibilities, especially as a beverage to use while fasting.
EviesEarth, I find that some juices just don’t taste so good bottled up. They get this bit of an after taste.
But with purple, it actually has quite a bite.
SageMother, I have and I just absolutely love this product.
I do really believe in this stuff and I can’t wait for the product to reach Vancouver.
