mine is long past my waist, and always had a bit of a kink in it.. My sister’s is always short and curls up tight (like a toilet brush I used to tease)

She uses straighteners all the time and won’t go anywhere without hers.. Never bothered myself.. My hair is heavy so it sort of straightens itself!

I have hair that’s always been right between straight and curly… it’s natural waves and the longer my hair gets, the more waves there are.

I also has curly hair all my life and it does become the usual thing to do to have them made into a pony tail or something…but yes…I do wish I had straight hair which could be styled differently and shortened with lesser discomfort on maintaining the style.

SageMother, that’s true about long hair vs. short hair.

I’ve always had curly hair growing up and it’s like a 1 minute solution to twist my hair into a bun.

Tinystar, beautification does take time. I love having my hair straightened after I get haircut, but it’s just so hard to pull it off at home.

It takes too long to straighten my hair.

Katharina, I really have much respect for women who can wear their hair short.

I’ve always had long hair since I was little girl, partly because it’s so curly that it just doesn’t look presentable short.

I think short hair is more work, for Black women anyway, than having longer hair.

Even with having to get the chemical relaxer on the hair to take advantage of length, it is easier to put hair up or pull it back into a pony tail when you don’t have time to mess with it, than it is to try to make short hair look good every time you have to leave the house!

I know I love layers in my hair but I’m not so sure if I could have the dedication to pull off those sedu hairstyles! Still, they do look nice!

Some of the short sedu styles look decent on the person wearing them… but for me, I still prefer my longer length.
