Frenzy Over First Ladies: Svetlana Medvedev

When the world’s richest countries met in Japan earlier this month for the G8 Summit to discuss the multiple threats posed by climate change, the world was tuning in.

With the topic of importance being the international effort to lead by example in order to combat the most serious environmental threat ever to humanity, Japan expected to play host to the superpower leaders of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Russia, United Kingdom, United States and the European Union….. and their spouses.

The japanese media had been buzzing well before the summit because of the two new additions to the entourage - *young and beautiful* First Ladies, Carla Bruni of France and Svetlana Medvedev of Russia.

Eventhough news of former supermodel Carla Bruni not accompanying her husband, French President Nicholas Sarzoky, was met with widespread disappointment, the media was quick to change their sights on the newest member - Svetlana Medvedev.

She’s created a media frenzy because she shies away from photographers and does not give interviews. She’s the childhood sweetheart of newly elected Russian President President Dmitry Medvedev.
