Thanks for dropping by!
i definitely needed this. moving to america where the portions are sooo big, i have slowly gotten accustomed to the size of the plate and suddenly, i’m eating the whole thing up!! i really need to watch myself! i’m growing in places i don’t want to! ack!
(oops… did my comment already get posted?? what i wrote was…)
i really needed this! moving to america, i used to be really grossed out by the sizes of the meals here and could not finish. however, as time goes by i’m slowly finishing off the plate! i’m growing in places that i don’t want to! ack! i really need to watch my portions.
i have learned to eat half of whats on my plate and to avoid anything that has msg in it…
Liquidfrog, I’ve also tried that same approach…..
But I think the reason why weight gain has always been an issue for me is because my dad kept on reminding me when I was younger that kids in third world countries are starving and I don’t even have the decency to finish the food on my plate.
Gilda, I know what you mean!
Even when we cross the canadian border to Seattle, the meal sizes increase immensely.
Especially that you are living on your own in New York trying to juggle in the pressures of studying at the same time, I do hope you find the time to just say “no” to fast food.
I have difficulty doing that myself
I love some of these ideas. I live in America and have been looking for ways to cut back on meals. This will also probably help with my friends and such as well. Thanks.
It’s good to remember that restaurant meals, in the USA, are actually THREE meals in one sitting!
SageMother, I know! I go across the canadian border to the U.S. all the time and I really see a big difference in portions.
I was pretty impressed with IHOP though because their menus now have calorie and nutritional content listed on it. I thought it was pretty cool.
