There was a time when you could get a list of bad mixes from your pharmacist, but I don’t know if they have them any longer. It is great information to have though, especially when it comes to your reproductive health. Any food or beverage that can alter the effectiveness of your birth control pills needs to be avoided!
I know our pharmacist gives us something with every prescription that states if you should not mix with certain foods or even being out in the sun. This was interesting to watch, thanks.
There are OTC medications you have to be careful with too. Most people were never told that acetaminophen is hard on your liver, so you shouldn’t drink alcohol when taking it!
SageMother, if you request it, I believe they will give you a copy of what you can not take with your current medication.

I tend to not pay attention to what I eat when I’m on medication. I’ve been trying to get over the nastiest cold and my pharmacist gave me a list of what not to take with my medicine.
Most pharmacists will tell you what foods to avoid with the medication they’re giving you if you ask.
It’s also a good idea to ask them about OTC stuff… the pharmacy counter is usually right there where you’re finding the OTC stuff anyhow and I’ve always found them happy to answer questions.
SageMother, this is especially true when it comes to over the counter medication.
There have been a lot of accidents that have been related to mixing OTC and food by mistake.
