Community Safety Net(TM) (CSN), a leading provider of educational safety resources, has launched a new online bookstore that specializes in child-friendly educational safety information.
Now available for purchase via electronic shopping cart are five top-quality resources that have been written specifically for young people and their families: Drug Safety, Fire Safety, Junior Fire Safety, Personal Safety, and Rural Safety. Each book is a comprehensive 100-plus page resource filled with statistics, tips, and valuable safety information, including a special section for parents and caregivers. The Drug Safety, Fire Safety, and Personal Safety titles each come with an interactive companion DVD produced just for kids.
A customizable safety message is included with each order — whether it’s for one book or a hundred — and the turnaround time is just 24 hours (once artwork and personalization has been customer-approved).
“As every parent knows, there’s nothing more valuable than the health and well-being of a child,” says Sherry Phaneuf, Executive Director of Community Safety Net. “At CSN, our mission is to protect kids for life, and our new online store makes it simple to obtain these important materials which have been proven to help protect children from harm, while educating parents and guardians on a variety of safety topics.”
The online bookstore is the most significant addition to CSN’s recently revamped web presence, which also features a new look plus a range of free safety-related information, activities, and opportunities, including:
— Dozens of safety-related articles on topics such as fire safety and drug safety
— A sizable database of downloadable tips on a diverse range of topics that includes animal safety, holiday safety, household safety and more
— A number of links to other safety related websites
— A roster of Leadership Partners across the United States and Canada that work with CSN to deliver safety resources to the kids in their communities
— A section of testimonials that speak to the quality materials delivered by CSN
— An online “Salute To Safety” award nomination form, used to commend an individual who’s gone above and beyond to help further child safety
— Mini-resources on a variety of safety topics (including bullying safety, bicycle safety, ATV safety, and skateboarding safety) which may be downloaded by CSN Leadership Partners
— A “Kids Only” section that offers online games and puzzles, a safety report writing contest in which kids can win a new computer, plus a page in which kids can enter the “secret password” from their CSN DVDs to win prizes
“Though we’ve been providing child safety resources to thousands of communities across North America in conjunction with our Leadership Partners for many years, we previously did not have a system in place to process orders for individual books,” explains Ms. Phaneuf. “The new online safety book store is set up to conveniently accommodate these requests.”
Community Safety Net is a family-run, values-oriented publisher that produces a series of highly regarded safety resources created especially for kids. To date, more than two million children in Canada and the United States have benefited from CSN materials. Thanks for dropping by!
I think these safety books for kids and parents are great idea. I thought I’d be seeing a mention of internet safety, though… but maybe that’s another area.
In any case, the more kids know about how to stay safe, the better.
With the problems a parent faces intaking a child to an emergency room, I am sure these safety books will be a real hit with parents.
thanks for this. i’ll definitely check it out.
Affordable Child Safety Resources Online…
Although you can’t put a price on a child’s safety, it is now easier and more affordable than ever to help protect young people with valuable tips and information.
Community Safety Net(TM) (CSN), a leading provider of educational safety resources…
There are times that I wonder if we aren’t teaching children enough safe behaviors that don’t require a helmet or car seat.
One of the best tools in safety is the ability to think ahead and evaluate risk. I hope people add that skill set when talking to their kids about being safe.
SageMother, that is for sure. Not only do they good resources for parents, they also have products that teach kids how to stay safe.
Hi Jenny.
Hope you found some helpful information on the website!
SageMother, that is a great idea. We tend to overlook the simple things in life and there are a lot of activities available for children that are low risk but still could have the potential to be really dangerous.
