Katharina, I actually got myself one of those designer re-usable bags that says “I’m not just a shopping bag”.

My husband thinks I’m crazy because now I use it instead of my regular purse to go places where I can be seen with him!

Now, he doesn’t want to invite me to go anywhere if the shopping bag goes!

Ah, that’s very interesting about banning the plastic bags, Imaginary Diva! Yes, now that I’m thinking about it, I see more and more of those reusable bags appearing in my stores here, so maybe we’ll soon follow Canada’s lead.

SageMother, Canada is now finally banning plastic bags at shopping malls to start …..

It’s great because now everyone will start using reusable cloth bags instead of contributing to the landfill.

Wild Oats has those containers!

Even though we don’t eat a lot of food that is prepared outside of our own kitchen, the hubby and I make a point to get foods that would go into these types of containers, on a regular basis.

I is a simple task to save them and return them for recycling, and it fits perfectly with our policy of using our own, cloth shopping bags instead of the store’s, throw away bags.

Katharina, now that you mention *going green*….

The other day I was tossing out my store bought salad container and I noticed on it the two labels – made from corn and compost degradable.

I thought that was super cool, but then, I just know the price of two of my favourite food *rice and corn* will just go up.

I agree that no matter the reason why a company decides to go green, we all benefit. At first I think a lot of them didn’t predict that the trend would last, so they were a little slow in getting in on it, but now I see more and more of it happening.

Ken, it is really a great idea for companies to get more “greener”. In fact, I hear it almost every day about the *who’s who* moving in that direction.

People are so *into* spending more to go green and it’s catching on.

Well, it was, until the US economy decided to go for a tail spin.

I just noticed that the dollar just went up in exchange rate! Woo-hoo!

In the beginning I was with you SageMother. I think that many companies have jumped on the bandwagon for the sake of being trendy. Lately I’ve decided, as it seems you have, I don’t care what their motivation has been. I’m just glad that their being more conscientious.

I have heard of the company but have never purchased the products. I am a little concerned over all of the companies jumping on the “green” bandwagon, but it is better than their not being conscious of the current market’s mood at all!
