When I first purchased Quicken, I couldn’t wait to get started on doing my taxes. *really*
It was so exciting to read, that with their system, I will be able to integrate paypal revenues *a must for every blogger out there*, schedule automatic updates for bank accounts, and track expenditures.
It was simple enough entering information and generating reports, but I seem to be having a problem syncing my online balances. I find that the totals Quicken provides me are a little bit short and you know how *difficult* it is to find where that missing $30 is in a sea of numbers!
I simply refuse to believe that I have to be a space cadet in order to make Quicken work for me the way it is supposed to. I mean, if I can figure out how to make money online and create complex wordpress templates, how hard can this be?
I am beginning to see the allure of just heading over to the nearest H&R Block to process my taxes. This way I will actually get a chance for some rest and relaxation this weekend instead of getting my mind jumbled over how much money I am going to pay the government this year.
And every single year, I seem to owe them more and more …..

I understand your frustration. This year my husband will do the taxes but next year I want to send them out.
I gave up doing myself a couple of years ago. Just a lot less of a hassle. Hubby and I always seemed to end up in a fight when we were doing them ourselves.
I just took my information in to somebody else this year – forget doing it myself. It’s just way too stressful.
I’ve been doing ours every year but after reading all of your comments, I’m almost too stressed to do it again.
I’ve been meaning to get at it for three weeks now and keep putting it off. Maybe that’s a sign.
I have been doing my own taxes for years, too. Years ago, they were very simple, but each year they get harder and harder. I find myself owing more and more money now, since I do a lot of freelance work. I don’t think I know all of the loopholes, or maybe I just want someone else to come up with them, so I think that this year I am going to bite the bullet and let someone else do it.
I find that if you are looking for loopholes it is just better to hire a professional. They seem to be the ones that have found them for me.
We did our own taxes once. And that was the last time for us. LOL
We have a regular tax person, and we appreciate her very much.
I find it much easier and more convenient to just take my taxes to somebody else. They are so fast too! I was in and out within a half hour. I am so glad I don’t do it myself.
SageMother, LOL!
I should have done the same thing and given it to my husband to do.
What was I thinking?
Tater03, money is the root of every relationship evil, isn’t it?
Jewel, well, looks like everyone else is ready for the tax season but me….
Katharine, LOL! I think it’s the thought that I’m going to owe money anyway no matter what gives me the worst headache.
Trick-r-treat, believe it or not, I prefer doing my taxes.
Not that I like doing it…. but I just can’t seem to make softwares that supposed to make it easier work for me.
Tater03, oh my, should I be talking about *tax* loopholes on a very public site?
EviesEarth, I’d like to be one of those people who reminisce about *doing taxes once*.
I think I’ve learned my lesson.
Jewel, looks like I’m the last one to get the memo about taking my taxes to someone else!
LOL!
