Instead of waiting for them to enter in your life, attract them to you. In order to find your mate, you want to take inventory on what kind of mate you want. Get yourself a piece of paper and start with an inventory list. Write down every quality that you would like in that perfect someone. The physical attributes aren’t important at the moment. Is your mate adventuresome, quiet, humorous, enjoys movies? Anything that you can think of, write it down.
Once you take inventory, create a clear image of your soon-to-be mate. Here’s a tip: If you have a certain someone in mind, make sure that when you create your image, you go with substance over fluff. When you concentrate on the true qualities, the Universe will attract someone to you who is just as you envisioned. When you emit strong thoughts and feelings about a particular person as the clear image, there is a possibility that the certain someone doesn’t possess all the qualities that you asked for. The Universe knows every living human being and what their qualities are. Even if someone seems to match your image from a quality level, you really don’t know if they truly match. Only the Universe does, and you don’t want to micro manage the Universe. The Universe will bring you someone that is just as you envision. And who knows, it could be that certain someone but leave it up to the Universe to find the right choice for you.
So now you have this great clear image of your mate. What do you do now?
Take your clear image minus the specific physical features and find yourself a quiet spot to visualize. Close your eyes and see in your mind your perfect mate with all of the qualities you wrote down earlier. See yourself with this person; going places together, having dinner together, whatever you would want to do on a date or in a relationship. Feel the serenity that comes with having someone who is exactly how you envisioned. See yourself together. Hear him or her telling you how much they care about you. Use every sense that you can to create an image of having them right now. Spend at least five minutes on creating your image. After you have had an incredible visualization session, see yourself letting the image go to the Universe and then… truly let it go. Releasing control over finding your mate is essential. Trust the Universe to bring this image to you.
Every evening, visualize and let go and trust the Universe. Make sure that you don’t put any negative feelings toward the image you created because that will only bring you negative. Make sure not to put any impatient feelings toward your image. The Universe will bring you who you desire in the time required. Again, let’s not micro manage the Universe. Your job is to stick to your clear image and visualize and let the Universe take care of the how through the Law of Attraction.
The next step is to be aware because the Universe is going to start bringing you signs that it is taking care of your desire. This sign may manifest as an encouraging ‘thumbs up’ or this sign may be a sign from the Universe to take action. Here’s an example: You meet your best friend’s new boyfriend and he happens to possess eighty percent of the qualities you want in a mate. This is a sign of encouragement from the Universe to you. The Universe is telling you that it is working on your mate and it is eighty percent there. See how it works? Then there is the sign of action. You go to lunch with your best friend whose boyfriend’s cousin is in town and she wants to know if you would do her a favor and double date. This could be the Universe giving you a sign of action because maybe this is the one. Just make sure you are aware of your surroundings and the signs that the Universe sends to you.
So you see, you have all the tools to bring your mate to you through the Law of Attraction. How wonderful is that?

Well… I kind of had to smile when reading it because I realized it was like filling out a catalog order. I can see how it might work, though… if there’s a clear image of the kind of person we want to come into our life, I guess we *would* make ourselves more available for that person to get to know.
Tell me, have any of you tried this yet? And has it brought results?

The experiences from one relationship have lessons for the next. Shortcuts are truly sad.
It is good to have a general idea of your requirements for a long term relationship or marriage, but you learn some of that from relationships that end. Someone forgot that….LOL!
Katharina, since I am already married and have no hope in trying out this theory, so I’ll have to say no.
However, I do believe in the Law of Attraction. We are like magnets in life. Some attract luck. And some attract bad luck.

It does sound like another one of those short cuts to lose weight that only works for the short term but never for the long term!
This is some good advice. Perhaps on how to live ones life in general. I keep trying to convince my brother to follow some of those tips. Maybe he needs to watch the Secret.
I think it’s good for life in general, too, yes. I don’t put too much thought into the “do this and you’ll be happy forever” things they try to sell us, though.
Yes, just about anything that is trying to “be sold” is usually not worth buying, in this respect. I think life’s experiences are worth their weight in gold.

Katharina, I also do believe that we are masters of our own destiny if we set our minds to it.
Some people just don’t know how to find their way towards the yellow brick road.
You really can find someone who lives up to your standards as long as you just don’t settle for anything else. That is usually what happens - we know good and well that there are faults about a person, but we think we can just live with them, which often ends up just being a nightmare.
Here’s something else to notice.
If you are not familiar with witchcraft, the Law of Attraction takes those methods and packages them to make them more acceptable for cowan, or non witches.
Some of us who were practitioners before it became the “spiritual path du jour” and mutated into “wicca”, feel this is a blatant theft.
EviesEarth, I agree with you on that. Because it really comes down to want vs need.
I am, however, a very big fan of The Law of Attraction because it explains why things are. Have you picked up the book before?

It’s good to know. I’ve always been a big believer of the Law of Attraction, even before the book came out and all these theories that are floating around. I guess they explain it for the masses that they can understand.
