Today, I am six sizes smaller and working my way to lose about two sizes more. I worked so very hard and made so many sacrifices. I read all the right books, worked my butt off at the gym, and stayed away from the wrong foods. Losing 70 pounds and keeping it off is no walk in the park.
In the meantime, Mary Jo Benson, who has been fighting obesity since childhood, lost 75 pounds by going on The Low Carb Chocolate Lovers Diet. Okay….. so being on a low-carb diet is no stroll in the park either, but at least she didn’t have to cut down on the chocolate!
I have a sweet tooth and when I first started the diet, I had to mentally prepare myself for the absence of one of my great loves in life. It was really a big thing for me because as an emotional eater, chocolate tops my number one list of comfort foods.
Believe me, I have tried to find every possible substitute available in the diet market to cut the cravings out including zinc and sugar-free chocolate. And you know what I found? Once you are addicted to the real stuff, everything else just becomes a poor excuse for subsitution. It just doesn’t seem very fair, does it?
So here’s the deal on The Low Carb Chocolate Lovers Diet:
“This is an eating strategy that will allow you to indulge in chocolate every single day – and put an end to those persistent sugar cravings that cause insulin spikes, low energy levels and a slew of related health problems. You can eat freely from the allowed foods, and occasionally indulge in enough different food groups that you’ll never get bored.”
Oh my, does it get any better than this…. somebody is actually telling me I can have chocolate every day!
Not to mention that this is pretty much an interesting diet without a lot of food restrictions. Just cut out carbs and eat the recommended food groups listed on their website. I really like the part where I can have “unlimited” portions and of course, since I just can’t help extolling the virtues of this diet, daily chocolate. For me, this doesn’t sound too restrictive and could probably make me a less crankier person. This diet could make my husband a very happy man.
You can view more information about the diet at Low Carb Specialties.
Feedback people. Feedback. Tell me what you think.
I am going to try this diet out.

WHOA! This is just TOO good to not look into further! I need to find some information about this diet. One of the most horrid parts of a diet *is* thinking there will be no chocolate for me for a while.
Now this would be the diet for me. I am a huge chocolate lover. I have to ask but is zinc supposed to curb the craving for chocolate? I have never heard that before.
As a chocolate lover, this diet would appeal to me also. I really do not know if I could do the low carb thing though. I guess if would be an even trade off for chocolate!
I would like to know how heavy the person was before losing 6 dress sizes!
I really don’t think I could do the no carb diet either. I am to in love with my bread and pastas.
MAN! I’m a choc addict… haha Am going to read up on this!
When are they going to find the benefits of pound cake or pecan pie? I am ready for the diets that include them!
Pecan Pie Diet… on the next Geraldo.
Well I guess if you have a slice for all three meals, that would be… hmmm, 400 calories times 3 meals… 1200 and a decent diet amount, so there ya go!
Most fad diet developers won’t mention the things like how sick you may end up from it, though!
I agree with the people here who said they need potatoes and bread. Carbless is NOT for me.
I have to agree with you on the fad diet developers not telling you if a diet is good for you or not. Someone else ends up doing the research on them.
That’s a good point Tater – the people who put these diets together aren’t the ones telling you what you are putting at risk.
Speaking of diets and chocolate
I’ve been really thrilled with all the 100 calorie packs that are coming out now. I found Little Debbie ™ brownie squares last week that are 100 calories! They’re pretty small, but I wouldn’t generally buy brownies at all, so it was kind of cool to find.
Even regular potato chips can be a diet feature if you can figure out how many you can eat and still maintain a 1500 daily calorie intake. I think you can have about 10 Lays potato chips per meal, depending on what else you have with them, and not blow your diet.
Katharina, I can’t believe she lost so much weight on the chocolate diet!!!
If only I’d known, I think I would have been a less grumpier dieter.
Actually, since I’ve opened by TheBikiniBodyDiet.com I never thought how interesting dieting can be. There is this spa in Arizona that does chocolate yoga.
I can’t wait to experience that one!
Tater03, yes, Zinc is supposed to keep the chocolate cravings away.
I’m not sure if it really works though….. I wouldn’t be the first one stepping to try it out.
Have you?
SageMother, I think she lost 70 lbs on this diet.
If you take a look at her picture at the website, you can see she’s pretty small now. Maybe size 5 or 6?
That spa sounds like my kind of place! They actually have seminars and retreats all over the country (one today in Chicago)
for “chocolate and yoga.” How wonderful!
Thanks, I had never heard that zinc would help with the craving. Good to know if I ever decide that I want to limit eating chocolate. I honestly don’t see that happening thought. lol
Bobo, you and me both!
I just don’t know how you remain so sexy if you love chocolate so much. Me, I pretty much just have to smell it and a couple of extra pounds get added to my weight.
SageMother, me too!!!!
Just can’t wait for a diet guru to say *they are ok* to eat on my diet.
Katharina, man can not live on pecan pie alone.
Mind you, if you ate it straight three times a day you, I can’t just seem to think on how crazy your mood swings will be.
Tater03, so do you think that this chocolate diet is another fad?
Jewel, oh no, is there where we say *chocolate can never be good for you*.
I actually this close to buying in to the fad of a chocolate diet!!!!
Katharina, those are so, so delish!
And I can eat one at a time and keep the rest for when I get sugar cravings.
SageMother, you are right about that.
I think people forget that dieting is really about moderation. You can still have the fatty foods if you know how to balance your meal.
But then, if you knew how to balance your meal, I don’t think you’ll have much of a weight problem!
Katharina, have you ever heard of the Hershey Spa?
My hubby is planning on bringing me there next year for our anniversary.
Oh my god! I’ve always wanted to roll around in a tub filled with hazelnut chocolate.
Tater03, no sane woman would give up chocolate.
