Sara Evans, Reba McEntire, George Strait, and Ronnie Milsap were just some of the hottest names in country music that puckered up to support the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation at the 2007 CMA Awards in November.

“As a performer, I’m lucky to have the opportunity to share my messages with the public, but through ‘A Kiss for Country,’ Mary Kay is allowing me to spread hope,” says Martina McBride, spokesperson for the one-of-a-kind campaign dedicated towards ending domestic violence against women.

One Kiss Can Make A Difference. Country music fans helped by bidding over $10,000 online for the autographed celebrity *smooch* cards in December, with 100% of the proceeds donated to violence prevention programs. Also as part of the campaign for this year, Mary Kay will award $20,000 grants on behalf of each artist that participated in ‘A Kiss For Country’ to a domestic violence shelter in their state.

“Mary Kay Inc. and the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation have been supporting women’s shelters, raising awareness and addressing the issues of violence against women for over a decade. Each year, the Foundation provides grants to women’s shelters in all 50 states and, in 2008, will donate $3 million to women’s shelters around the country.”

If you or anyone you know needs immediate help, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-SAFE (7233).
