It's also important because a lot of recipes that might look healthy on the surface actually have hidden things like sodium and sugar and especially fat.

It doesn't really surprise me that America is the heaviest country. I think a recipe section would be great, too! I can always use more healthy recipes. :-)

Oh, and the person who mentioned drinking enough water... very true.

Imaginary Diva
You are so right! We are, literally, what we eat! I heard on the news or maybe it was 60 minutes that America is the heaviest country in the world. On one hand, that is a good thing because everybody gets to eat. But, on the other hand it's not very healthy. Sometimes eating right is not fun at all and doesn't have any taste to it. But if you have the right recipe, you can make a world of difference. Let me know when you start your recipe section. I've got loads of them.

EviesEarth, when you are healthy, you just feel more energized. That's why we should always watch what we eat because it could affect how we feel tomorrow.

Katharina, now that I think of it, as a whole group here at the Diva, we should start a user contributed recipe site.

I've got to make notes about that.

Andy, it's really such a great place to find healthy recipes based on your own personal diet.

I've been visiting that site for ages ever since I found them surfing while trying to put together an article for TheBikiniBodyDiet.com

Leo, cooking your own meals definitely cuts down on all the junk that you put in your body.

I was just over at another blog and folks there were talking about adult allergies that you can get, probably from all the bad stuff that is in our food.

1 ts Cooking oil
3/4 c Lo-fat Cottage cheese,drain
1 tb Cornmeal

2 tb Grated Parmesan Cheese
1 ts Dried Basil, crushed

Then, knead in enough remaining flour to make a moderately stiff dough that is smooth and elastic (5 minutes total).
Shape into a ball. Place in a greased bowl; turn once. Cover; let rise in a warm place till double (about 30 minutes).
Punch down. Cover; let rest 10 minutes.
On a floured surface, roll dough into a 14" thick circle (to fit pan).
Place on a pizza pan sprayed with Pam and sprinkled with the cornmeal. Build up edges slightly. Bake crust in 425 deg F oven about 10 minutes or lightly browned.

In a blender combine cottage cheese, egg, Parmesan cheese, basil, garlic, and 1/8 t pepper. Cover; blend till smooth. Spread over hot crust. Cut green pepper into rings.
