You don’t have to be a master chef personality to know that whole foods, and cooking straight from your own kitchen, is much more healthier for our bodies. Cutting down on all the trans-fats could help you lose weight naturally and in the process, could boost your immune system.
Learning to cook properly for your diet is not as hard as it seems. My personalized diet – as I call it – is a combination of concepts that I like such as low carb from Atkins, eating green light foods from The GI Diet and eating as much vegetables as possible.
And, if you visit over at The World’s Healthiest Foods Recipe Section, you will be able to put together a meal plan that works for you. I really enjoy their Recipe Assistant (and I’m sure my fiance does too … ) because I can enter all my “good food” requirement, take out the “bad food”, and decide which nutrients my body needs. It searches through hundreds of recipes and then presents menu choices for Breakfast, Salad Entrees, Soups, Fish, Chicken and Turkey, Lean Meat, Vegetarian Entrees, Side Salad/Dressings, Side Vegetables and Desserts.
What’s more, the recipes look really mouthwatering and even better after it’s cooked. It is such a handy way to put together a great meal plan for the week. And as we all know, having a meal plan just cuts away all the unnecessary “junking” that goes on….

True, people are too reliant on quick weight loss techniques – if a balanced diet with exercise is maintained, this is the key to a healthy weight loss!
I prefer making my meals also. It’s tastier and I’m not spending a lot of money.

I agree that it is much healthier to cook homemade meals. I do that a lot but my problem is the butter I like to add to everything. I am terrible when it comes to that. great article by the way.
i have been cooking my own meals for health reasons and i really agree with all of you. I have been ordeing my food from online mostly because i hear all the horror stories about how long meat or chicken cuts sit for hour and build all sorts of crap on them. I order from a bunch of places, Celebrity Foods being one of them. I like to get my basics from these places and cook it all myself.
I dated an executive chef for a w hile, which made me swear to eat food cooked at home. Even the “diet” dishes have loads of calories that aren’t needed.
It is best to eat home cooked meals and avoid foods prepared elswehre. That way you know what is going in your mouth!

I’ve been enjoying cooking healthy meals and I wouldn’t want it any other way. I like controlling what goes into my food (and my stomach!)
I know this is going to sound like a commercial. But, everybody needs a break from the kitchen. And where diet is concerned there is only one place I would go in at a Subway. It is a place where you can control what you eat and how much you eat. They truly do have that free sandwiches. But only if you make them fat free. Besides, their food is good.
Cheers to healthy eating! This is one of my New Years resolutions: learn to cook healthy and good tasting food. Thanks for posting this! I just stumbled on your blog today and it’s wonderful. Don’t forget to drink 8 glasses of water per day too!

I love to cook. Especially since I like to know what we are eating. I also like the way that I feel when I eat healthier.
Tater03, butter can really be so fattening eventhough it tastes so good having an extra helping on bread or sandwiches.
Opal, you are so right. Cooking at home is not only less expensive, but it’s also much more tastier.
I noticed that when I cook I use more herbs and spices. That’s always good for your body!

1 pk Active dry Yeast
1/2 ts Sugar

Leo, cooking your own meals definitely cuts down on all the junk that you put in your body.
I was just over at another blog and folks there were talking about adult allergies that you can get, probably from all the bad stuff that is in our food.
Andy, it’s really such a great place to find healthy recipes based on your own personal diet.
I’ve been visiting that site for ages ever since I found them surfing while trying to put together an article for TheBikiniBodyDiet.com
Katharina, now that I think of it, as a whole group here at the Diva, we should start a user contributed recipe site.
I’ve got to make notes about that.
Thanks for dropping by Joes Jeans, and I hope you come by again.
I am adding a link to one of your articles on the left hand sidebar under FASHION.
EviesEarth, when you are healthy, you just feel more energized. That’s why we should always watch what we eat because it could affect how we feel tomorrow.

You are so right! We are, literally, what we eat! I heard on the news or maybe it was 60 minutes that America is the heaviest country in the world. On one hand, that is a good thing because everybody gets to eat. But, on the other hand it’s not very healthy. Sometimes eating right is not fun at all and doesn’t have any taste to it. But if you have the right recipe, you can make a world of difference. Let me know when you start your recipe section. I’ve got loads of them.
It doesn’t really surprise me that America is the heaviest country. I think a recipe section would be great, too! I can always use more healthy recipes.
Oh, and the person who mentioned drinking enough water… very true.
Isn’t this a nice idea…to have a site that helps you decide on the good food and take a load out of your mind..thinknig everyday what to cook…what is healthy…will there be lots of fat…etc.etc.
I can’t wait to look things up at the site.
It’s also important because a lot of recipes that might look healthy on the surface actually have hidden things like sodium and sugar and especially fat.
