It’s probably because of the changes I’ve made on my diet. Since last week, I’ve opted to follow one of Bob Greene’s golden diet rule of not eating after 7:00PM. My body is still getting used to eating a bigger breakfast and a smaller dinner meal.
Ever since then I’ve been on this state of constant, unexplainable hunger. It’s the most weirdest thing.
Lem decided to take me through Mickey D’s drivethrough to cheer me up. He’s such a sweet man. While we were waiting to get served at the window, I just couldn’t get this Subway commercial out of my mind:
I got myself a chicken wrap and was mighty happy that it didn’t come with blubber *or a double chin*.

Dieting is so hard! You know you’re succeeding when you get that hunger all the time, but it’s really rough. I eat a lot of veggies to help that.
Dieting is difficult but I feel that there are ways to reach goals without the nagging hunger. More meals, that are carefully planned and smaller, throughout the day is one way to stave off hunger and still lose weight.
Another trick is to buy an inexpensive pedometer and set your first goal for the number of steps. I will have to look the number up, but I think your first goal is supposed to be around 2000 steps a day, or about a mile. Slowly increase to target number and you lose weight while taking walks, which tends to improve blood flow in general. YOu should see the way you feel improve as well.
Dieting is very hard. I know that commercial very well.!! Ugh. I hate dieting.
I also love that commercial. I know that I am terrible at not eating in the evenining. It is like a snackfest for me at night. Good luck on your diet.
The thing that helps me most when I’m dieting, I think, is making sure to always have a bottle of water close to me. When I start feeling hungry, that usually helps me to wait until it’s time to eat.
I’ve also been happy that so many 100 calorie packs of all kinds of things are showing up.
I do not diet, but I do try to eat as healthy as possible. I love Caesar Salads with grilled chicken, so when I have to eat at a restaurant, that’s usually what I get. I also try to choose fast food items that are the least fattening, although I know it is hard to tell sometimes.
That’s why I don’t touch the stuff. At my age a double cheese burger will show up on a thigh in half an hour.

I agree with the tip about the water. But water tends to upset my stomach. I have always been that way. I have no clue why it does that though.
I saw a show that talked about the effects of a huge Thanksgiving meal, which usually runs into the 5,000 calorie range. Did you know that many people have heart attacks after eating that many calories? Their system just can’t handle the load!
It’s just another bit of information to keep you thinking about how much you are putting into your system. You might not diet but watching the calories can save your life!
Reviewer, I don’t think there is anything easy when you go on a diet.
The best thing I have ever done to counteract the hunger pains is to make sure that I eat at scheduled times for the first two weeks. Then, after that, the hunger pangs only come when I am supposed to eat.
Works very well.
SageMother, the pedometer is such a great idea! Something as simple as that can get you working on a quite achievable target.
I just can’t believe all the expensive and complicated diet gadgets that are floating around in the market, when something like a pedometer will do.
3Plus3, me too! But it’s so, so *great* when my old clothes begin to fit just right.
Of course, I’m not planning on being size 0 or 2 like when I was younger, but I’m aiming to get back to at least size 5.
I’m not too far off. So, keeping my fingers crossed and watching the diet.
Tater03, I am a big snacker at night too. It doesn’t help that my husband is also a munchie monster.
He just loves having bags and bags of potato chips at home that I’ve asked him to hide it in a *very safe* spot so that I wouldn’t find it.
You won’t believe where he tried to stash his loot one time! Inside the dishwasher, and he thought I’d never look in there
Katharina, water is always good for you when you are on a diet. Not only does it flushes all the bad stuff from your body, it also alleviates that bloating sensation.
100 packs munchies…. gotta love them. Yum.
Jewel, you are so lucky. I just know you don’t have any weight problem of any kind
I also love salads. Must have an awesome dressing to go with it.
Debo Hobo, you and me both. Add some fries to it and a supersized coke….. there goes the super expanded cellulite pockets.
SageMother, I’m just surprised that one sit down during Thanksgiving only equals 5000 calories!
Thanks for the heads up because, you are right, you are just waiting to get up on heart attack alley by doing that.
Did you have a good thanksgiving?
Oh, YEAH, baby! That’s a hoot!
Hang in there. You’re doin’ great!

Ready Maid, I really kind of like that commercial.
If I could only program my fridge to tell me the same thing every single time I open it, then that would even be better!
