Atula if you normally have two slices of toast with youe tea in the morning. Try having one, and then midmorning, having the other one with another cup of tea.

Also often, what you think are hunger pangs are really only thirst pangs and if you have a nice ice cold glass of water when you get a craving, you might find you are able to avoid the snack.

I like your idea of splitting the breakfast into two sagemother....I have heard of small frequent meals..but this idea is new to me and possibly it can curb the hunger feeling as well wthout munching on too many snacks...thanks

SageMother, I think along with our "weight" views, we, women, really have no clue what turns a man on.

I've always wanted to be in the same weight level in my 20's and when I started to gain weight, I had it in my mind that men would never be interested in a rounded figure.

After meeting my husband and losing all the weight (now back to my 20's), my husband sits me down and tells me that he doesn't like bones and sticks... A lot of men actually do not like women who do not have curves.

Mauvekat, I love pancakes also.... I was just recently in Seattle and IHOP's menu now has a calorie rating!

So, I can pick and chose the pancake of my desires as long as I know that I need to take those calories off my other meals sometime during the day.

I was really impressed with their move!

That's good advice sagemother.. eat less, but more often... it helps diabetics like my husband, to keep their sugar levels even and avoid the lows after a long gap between meals..

Have you considered splitting your regular meals into smaller portions and eating more often?

If you normally have eggs and toast for breakfast, you could eat the eggs first, then 2 hours later eat the toast, for example.

You could still indulge the urge to munch without raising your daily caloric intake!

Well,

With economic collapse will come spartan living. If people have to cut back on how much food they buy, and avoid loading up on carbohydrates at the same time, I bet weightloss will become effortless!

I think this is quite a simple and clear way to point out that our living standards should dictate what we eat rather than eating anything and everything and then repenting with the weight gain without much excercise.....
