I come from a family line of breast cancer survivors. My mother. Her sisters. My grandmother.
We’ve lost. We’ve won. And we will continually fight it until we emerge triumphant.
So, this October, please don’t forget to give, run or shop. Together we will all beat the odds.

Are there any recent developments in breast cancer research that are promising?
It too years to convince doctors not to just rip off a whole breast as the main form of treatment. Is anything new on the horizon that would further alleviate the devastation of treatment?
There are some great products out there that support the finding of a cure for breast cancer. I have known quite a few women who have survived breast cancer, and one who did not.
SageMother, I’m sure there have been and are new medical research or treatments that are promising.
In the case of my mother, she was diagnosed three times. She was given the option the first two times for a masectomy which she declined. The third time around she decided to get it done because her sister had recently passed away with breast cancer.
Jewel, there are actually a lot of products out there that are offering to donate partial proceeds to Breast Cancer Research.
If you do find one, please make sure to leave me a link here ‘k?
A great and worthy cause. I haven’t experienced breast cancer, but have experienced cancer in my family. And it is quite a devastating illness. I hope they find a cure.
Sharon I’m so sorry to hear what your Aunt and Mother have gone through. And you, too, because we all suffer when someone close to us does. How is your Mom doing now?
3Plus3, I hope so too. Even it skips a generation with myself and my sisters, this is not something I would wish upon my future daughters, and granchildren.
Thanks for the support!

Samantha, she is doing fantastic. And her biggest regret was not getting the masectomy sooner because she put herself at risk for spreading the cancer to her other organs.
I don’t think this is something that is going to come back. Her doctor has given her a clean bill of health for the last 3 years.

I always shop at the breast cancer stores. Some of the pink stuff they sell is just lovely, whether it is for charity or not! Great article as usual – thankyou!
My grandmother died from breast cancer. I am sure I am genetically at risk of getting it. I just pray that breast cancer would not come to me this early in my life.
I guess that is why I have been wearing a lot of pink this month.
Beatrix, I’m sorry to hear that your grandmother passed away from breast cancer.
I really can relate to how you’re feeling about the probability of getting it.
