At least, I think that sounds a much more logical method of action rather than planning the gender of our baby around a diet of carrots, lettuce, mushroom and tofu, like I have been advised by my relatives.
Better him abstain from sex, than me eating rabbit food.
It’s not even a matter of whether I believe that this could produce a favourable result or not, it remains a fact that baby gender selection is gaining a stronger buzz with couples today who want to plan their family right to exact ovulation days in order to conceive a baby boy or a baby girl.
Most couples rely on scientific methods such as the BabyChoice Gender Selection Calendar and steering clear away from superstitious pregnancy folklores:
“How Nature chooses a baby boy or a baby girl – There are about 75 days a year when the ph of your egg is clearly opposite to the ph of a sperm with the boy or the girl chromozone. Only the fusion of opposite ph’s creates the necessary charge for the sperm to penetrate the thick egg membrane and create a new cell. The ph of each sperm type is constant whereas the egg alternates it’s ph. These days are researched and identified for every mother according to extensive scientific past research on pregnancies and the establishment of parameters linked to her personal information.”
Uhuh….. Right. I think I’ll just do it the fun way.
According to the Baby Center, here are some fantastic tips on how to chose the gender of your baby:
IF YOU WANT A BOY …
Lie down after sex and stay there for a while. Supposedly that gives the boy sperm a chance to beat the girl sperm to the egg.
Make love standing up.
Try the rear-entry position.
Focus on his pleasure — if the male partner climaxes first, supposedly you’re guaranteed a boy.
Give in to seduction — if the man is the one to suggest some baby-making, you’ll get a boy.
Gals, sleep to the left of your partner.
Make love when there’s a quartermoon in the sky.
Have sex at night.
Mark your calendar — more boys are conceived on odd days of the month.
Follow the compass — one of our users swears that pointing the woman’s head north while you make love guarantees a boy.
IF YOU WANT A GIRL ….
Give the missionary position a go.
Make love with the woman on top.
Focus on her pleasure — if the woman orgasms before her partner, you can decorate your nursery in pink.
Take the lead — if the woman initiates sex, you’ll get a girl.
It’s all in the timing…or the direction.
Do the baby dance when the moon is full.
Make a date for love in the afternoon.
Get together on the even days of the month.

Baby Gender Selection…
“No, honey, you know we can’t have sex today. If we want a baby boy, sex is out of the question until next month.”
At least, I think that sounds a much more logical method of action rather than planning the gender of our baby around a diet of c…
That’s news to me. No more lame excuses, “Not tonight, Hon! I got a headache!” Now it’s more cliche to say, “No, honey, you know we can’t have sex today. If we want a baby boy, sex is out of the question until next month.”
Some how I can’t see who makes the first move as a sound indication of baby’s gender. It is interesting how some correllaries persist through out the ages, even when they are clearly illogical.
Well I have two sons and just have come to the fact that if I want a girl it is just the luck of the draw if we get one or not. That being said I just would not go into having a third child hoping for a girl because it is not gaurenteed what you would have.
I think it is interesting that there are people who will keep trying to have a specific gender child. It doesn’t seem to occur to them tha tthey will have to feed the other 5 or 10 children they have had while trying to gt that one boy or one girl.
ArahMan7, lol! I hope I didn’t open a big can of worms with that one …..
You sure did, Diva
Lotta loves from Malaysia.
SageMother and Tater03, I know it’s kind of strange. There used to be a time that parents just wanted to have a healthy baby, and it doesn’t matter whether it’s a boy or a girl.
However, now with modern technology, I wouldn’t be surprised that the future holds even more – like being able to chose the hair color or the eye color of your children. And today’s generation x is just lapping this all up. For a fee, of course.
I liked all the hocus pocus superstition better instead. It sounds must more *lustfully* entertaining.
Interesting…. haha… now I know why both mine are boys
I think it all seems a bit hooky to me, I have 2 boys and 1 girl and trust me, have tried several of your positions and it didn’t matter.
Janice, LOL! I knew someone was going to think this funny and over the top.
Maybe I should compare notes, since you DID get your two boys…..
3Plus3, I think that’s why they call it superstitious folklore. At least, trying the sexual positions are not too, too bad. I just think trying out the *rabbit* diet can really get you bored to death at the prospect of trying for a baby.
Thanks for letting me know, that the recommendation from the Baby Center, probably and *most likely* will not work.
I have 3 boys .who i love very much indeed. But would love to have a girl to. does anybody know anything about the x y cromosome factor?
Well I can pretty much guarantee you those things are a lie…. When I conceived both my boys according to that list they should have been girls. Lucky for me they were not.
I think you just go ahead and have fun while your having sex and it should produce a child, planning for a specific gender id crazy…I mean you set yourself up for a let down if all that planning ends up with the wrong gender, be happy with what you get M or F
Aw shucks…. And here I was really looking forward to trying out every *suggestion* ……
I would simply tell her that I can control the gender of the baby by the sheer power of my will, and that my will is staunch provided that she make every effort to not over-spend.
Becky, sorry…. Personally, I do not know anything about x and y chromosome factor. However, it goes into a little bit of detail on the BabyChoice Gender Selection link I have provided on the actual post itself.
Would love to hear more about it though when you get a chance to research into it much more further.
Jon, now that’s what I want to hear….. All powerful, all knowing, and all consuming. LOVE THAT IN A MAN.
Oh my goodness, why does this all have to be so complicated! Something I have been stalling on for 30-odd years and now it seems gender-selection is another challenge I’ll have to navigate! Oh well, another good reason to just keep test driving and not actually buying the car!
Obviously not true, but still amusing to read. I love reading superstitions.
SimoneM, I just love your site, and wow, it must be so nice to be able to write your own ebook! Especially on self esteem …..
Test driving, huh??? I betcha there’s much to be said about *why crummy cars are still out on the road*
Jewel, I found this very amusing also. If only it was that easy ….
I am just wondering who decided to make all this up….LOL… someone has way too much time on their hands…
SandMike123, it’s secretly funded by the government…. paid by our tax dollars.
Can’t you just see a white lab technician saying OK NEXT POSITION?
my goodness, i never knew such a thing was possible. but good luck with that and tell me how it goes. hee hee!
Hi Gilda! Don’t worry, I will catalogue an itemized list of all the *experiments* hubby and I do
I hope your trip to New York is looking up. New York can sometimes give you the doom blues.
oh my. haha! well just don’t go too much into detail. the last time my friend told me some things about her boyfriend and i couldn’t look at him in the eye after that.
thanks!! it is looking pretty good!
Gilda, LOL! I guess I’ll have to make that I don’t give you TMI!
I can’t believe you are going to school at the Project Runway School in New York. That must be so exciting! Do you ever run into Tim and does he really say “Just Get It Done” all the time?
As people choose to have fewer children with delays that effect fertility rates, I think gender manipulation will be refined. I can see separating sperm into x an y groups and then fertilizing in vitro
A friend of mine recently announced that she is pregnant with her 1st child. She is 3 months along. 5 months ago her husband wanted a boy and she wanted a girl. Now that she is pregnant and they understand all that can go wrong they want healthy. Boy or girl, doesn’t matter as long as the baby is healthy.
I’m with them.
Having lost my first born 3 days after her birth, I think people really need to be told everything that could go wrong. It would readjust their priorities!
Accer, I totally agree with you on that. A lot of couples have different priorities nowadays, but having a healthy baby is a blessing indeed.
SageMother, I’m really sorry to hear about this. You are right of course, there are other things that are much more important than choosing the gender of your baby.
http://www.boygirldiet.com has an exceptional program with proven results. If you want a boy, or a girl, they have diet plans for both. My husband and I really want a boy and are planning on following the diet in the winter. We purchased it this week and are really impressed! wish us luck :0)
I’m not convinced that these methods could possibly work – but it can’t do any harm to try, it may be fun!
I wouldn’t be that bothered about the gender of my baby that I’d go through a lot of trouble to have one or the other.
As others have already said what matters most is that mum and baby are healthy.
Hmmm… well after reading this, the first thing I thought of was I wonder if they give the likelihood of success at 50%?
Do these things and we guarantee that there’s a 50% chance you’ll have the gender of your choice.
justontime, fun is the name of the game isn’t it????
Sex should be about being spontaneous and you can’t really plan around it in order or it won’t be worth doing the deed.
Imaginary Diva lots of things stop it being quite as spontanious as we would like (such as using birth control). If a couple choose to try out the advice in the article it is up to them. It can’t do any harm as long as they accept that it may not work. I don’t think anyone would take it too seriously.
I have a baby boy and I truly want a baby girl next…but no way i am going to do all these sort of things…sometimes somethings atleast we should leave to fate….
Nancy, so many things have happened since I wrote this article!
I just heard on the radio last week that the same concept of choosing the sex of your baby was used to isolate the breast cancer gene from an embryo.
So, last week the first baby ever born without the breast cancer defect gene was born! How cool is that!!!!! There is hope after all for my future kids.
However, I am not sure how comfortable I am with the futuristic society of *perfect* kids.
Katharina, I believe they guarantee more than just 50%….. but it’s so controversial, that I’m sure no legal laws are being made to protect consumers.
I am wishing for a baby girl now…and even the feeling of having another boy makes me jittery…if only there could be something done with surity…but this is how nature is I suppose….
Atula, I hope you get your baby girl, I am sure that if I’d had my son first he would have been an only child!!
I have a friend who has always longed for a baby girl as she grew up as the only girl in a family of five boys… so they keep trying..
they now have 5 boys…. I keep telling her.. next one’s a girl!
My neighbour has 5 boys, she kept trying for a girl, but after 5 she had to give up.
