These are great tips, all. I wanted to share an item I purchased a few months ago that will go a long way toward keeping your hands looking great to highlight those manicures! Some of you may have used them already — I hadn’t, but heard they are commonly used in Euro salons. They’re called Mastex Heated Beauty Mittens, and when used with a moisturizer give a really deep, penetrating moisture treatment. My hands have never been softer even though I moisturize “religiously” the conventional way. I use these twice a week.

These are great tips but the one about the base coar is especially important for darker colour polishes. The colour not only lasts longer it doesn’t stain the nail!

Actually it does. I noticed my youngest sister doing that when we were in our teens and ever since then I’ve been doing it.

It also makes it dry faster and eliminates that uneven polish look.

So, does the ice water method really work? I haven’t tried that, but I’ve tried sticking my hands in the freezer for a few seconds (don’t ask, lol!)

I was in a mad rush yesterday to go to a wedding that I can’t believe I committed one of the biggest fashion faux pax – sexy high heels with no toenail polish.

I quickly went home after the wedding ceremony and lavished attention to my toes and nail polish, and hope that it lasts….

I so agree that I am forever chipping my nailpolish. My biggest thing is waiting for it to dry. I will have to try some of these tips. Thanks for passing them along.

Since I do lots of arts and crafts, along with making my own skincare items, I always have some cyclomethicone around. If you paint or spray a bit of this plant derived silicone on your nails, they dry a little faster!
