I just received a catalog from a jeweler’s supply house, Fire Mountain Beads.

Cultured pearls are offered in shades like “cranberry” and “antique gold” along with novel shapes, like “stick pearls”.

I am considering getting a few to make molds and create polymer clay beads that are similar.

Katharina, I’m the same way also. I like the more *modern* look…. maybe because my mother used to wear it all the time when I was growing up!

Oh wow, I’d love to see a purple pearl… that sounds very unique. Bottom line, though, is that I prefer traditional pearls. Other colors just don’t “look like pearls” to me.
