I wish I could remember which comedian said it–I’d like to give them credit–but I heard a comment the other day to the effect of, “Celebrities used to go to rehab because of what they put INTO their mouths. Now they go to rehab because of what comes OUT of their mouths.” I thought that summed it all up pretty well.

Can you just imagine booking int a drug rehab program and saying “can I have Britney’s suite please?”

You always have to wonder about the motivation behind a rehab stint that lasts a couple of weeks only to find the celebrity emerging looking great. It just doesn’t work that way in the real world. I admire anyone who can admit they have a problem and then choose to do something about it. But these mini-stays don’t strike me as doing anything but getting some publicity going and possibly putting a band aid on a biger problem.
