My sister just told me the craziest thing. She is planning on racing her pet Chihuahua, Lovely, at PETCO’s Search For The Fastest Chihuahua next month in Los Angeles.

I didnt even know Lovely could run a straight line. That poor little thing….

Okay, so I counted to ten and tried to remember if my brain started to skip days, and today, really in fact is April Fools Day. Realizing that this was not the case, I then offered to see if Lovely needed anything for the race … maybe another Louis Vuitton pet carrier or a swarovski beaded collar?

Or perhaps maybe my sister needs a matching swarovski beaded collar of her own?

Well, it’s all for a good cause anyway since PETCO is trying to created awareness for the Chihuahua Rescue & Transport to help more homeless Chihuahuas find new families.

“These little dogs have huge hearts and make great companion animals,” said Heather Olson, local store marketing program manager at PETCO. “The PETCO Unleashed race is about family fun and about reminding people that there are millions of adoptable pets - including Chihuahuas - waiting for loving homes.”

What I really can’t wait is for the reality tv masterminds to pick this up and have a celebrity chihuahua race show. No, I don’t want to see celebrity chihuahua has-beens, I want to goodness honest doggies that have their own line of clothing (Paris Hilton & Tinkerbell) or at least their own doggie blog (Hilary Duff & Lola). And whoever wins, they can donate all that money (they will never need) to a charity of their choice, just like in they do in the game shows.

These would be my top 3 contenders:

Snow White & Britney Spears

Lola & Hilary Duff
Tinkerbell & Paris Hilton

I thought of adding Bruiser from Legally Blonde to the list, but he just strikes me as being way too smart to even want to race these other celebrity pups.
