Here are just some of the fantastic & exotic recipes I will be trying to impress my friends with from Paul and Freya’s cooking blog – Writing At The Kitchen Table.
BEER BREAD
3+/- cups self-raising flour
12oz. beer (I used Fiddler’s Elbow by Wychwood this time)
2 tablespoons sugar (4 if you’re using brown sugar)
1 teaspoon salt

BURMESE PRAWN CURRY
550g Large Raw Prawns (or whatever prawns you can get hold of/afford)
2 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
Dash Fish Sauce (go easy on this, it can over-salt the dish with just a clumsy hand (like mine))
½ Tablespoon Tumeric Powder
(Get The Recipe)
HOT & SOUR SQUID
About 10 Tubes of Squid, prepared, with the tentacles if possible
1 Teaspoon Harissa Paste made up with a couple of teaspoons of Olive Oil and a clove of Garlic
2 Spring Onions cut into rings
(Get The Recipe)
BLACKBERRY TRIFLE
700g Blackberries 50g Sugar
50g Jam (I used Meddlar for reasons noted above)
(Get The Recipe)
Thanks to Freya and Paul, I know I will have a great party! Now, off to chose what alcohol will compliment my menu…. Anyone’s got suggestions?
