It’s target? People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), or as the letter states, lack thereof.
These strong accusations come after two PETA employees in North Carolina were charged with animal cruelty felony after being caught redhanded by the police tossing out the bodies of 31 dead pets into a trash dumpster. The Center of Consumer Freedom wants to know why the $25 million a year that PETA takes in is not enough to care for these healthy animals instead of putting them to death in the back of a PETA van.
According to the State of Virginia, this is not an isolated incident. Since 1998, public records show that 14,400 pets have died at the hands of PETA. A website called PETA Kills Animals says that in 2005 PETA killed 90 percent of the animals it took in.
